Eleni Myrivili

Senior Consultant for Heat Resilience

Eleni Myrivili has advocated for an environmental, nature-positive, and climate-neutral agenda for more than two decades. She is currently a Senior Consultant for Heat Resilience for the Arsht- Rock Resilience Center (Atlantic Council) and the City of Athens. She was appointed Athens Deputy Mayor for Urban Nature and Climate Resilience as well as Chief Resilience Officer, after her election to Athens Government in 2014. Since 2021, under the new role of Chief Heat Officer – Europe’s first – she is raising awareness of the dangers of extreme heat and co-creating a greener and cooler future for all. 

She co-chairs the Steering Committee of the global Resilient Cities Network (R-Cities) and has recently completed a year as a Loeb Fellow of Advanced Environmental Studies 2020, at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. 

 A tenured Assistant Professor at the University of the Aegean, Greece, until 2021, Eleni Myrivili got her Ph.D. from Columbia University (N.Y., N.Y.) in Cultural Anthropology.
